Thank you to everyone who came our rally and gospel show on the Fayetteville Square. We raised a lot of awareness around Sheriff Tim Helder's participation in the violent deportation programs whereby he gives immigrants to ICE for deportation before any finding of guilt or innocence.

The Gospel Hour

10 years ago, immigrant advocates met with Sheriff Tim Helder in an attempt to persuade him to stop separating families and communities. At that meeting, Tim gave Stephen Coger, AJC founder, three albums of gospel music in exchange for a gospel mix-tape that Stephen's father had made for Tim. We invited Tim to announce his withdraw from 287g and sing with us today, but he did not show up. We expect he will do the right thing soon, and maybe he will sing with us then.
